Great fun yesterday. Chris and I went at it as my Polish Corps met his Austrians at the Battle of Ashburn - a village set in some rolling hills. Chris was the attacker in this 12 pt. DBN affair. A good, tough fight but Poniatowski's attack columns carried the day routing the Austrians. 4-2 final score.
Sean showed up with his Scots-Irish and the first game of the Huzzah Pyramid was under way. I elected to field the Huns as my Book II entry. Showing no fear, Sean drove his 3 light chariots into the Hunnic hornet's nest and exited unscathed in a total 4-0 rout of Attila's army.
While we waited for Chris, Sean and I got in a practice game for his S-I against my Sub-Roman British. Sean's wild-eyed auxilia outfought my spear line and Saxon warbands in another rout. A 4-1 final and I will be avoiding Sean as long as I can. He's got my number!
Chris entered the pyramid fray with his Polybian Romans and challenged me on the bottom tier. Attila was more patient and more leery of his low factor LH for this battle. The hunnic light horse picked at the Roman flanks and broke up the enemy line into smaller pieces defeating each in detail for a 4-0 victory.
I look forward to more fun and excitement next Thursday. See you all then!
