Monthly Favourites: November

November always seems like an exceptionally fast month but I honestly do not know where it has gone this year. It literally feels like I only just posted my October Favourites. I always think November is a middle month. Nothing exciting really happens and I am just waiting for December to come round so I can officially get hyped for Christmas. Now that we have made it to the 1st, I will spend my evening putting up my decorations and putting on my Christmas bedding, all whilst listening to my Christmas playlist. Is there anything like the excitement of the lead up to the festive season? I think not but I know a lot of people would be willing to disagree with me.

As this month has felt so short and a lot of my hard earned money has gone on presents, rather than treating myself, I feel like I do not have much to talk about. Which in hindsight is a completely irrational feeling as there are a few products which I have been loving.

Jo Malone London - Green Almond and Redcurrant

This was an late addition to my collection at the month of last month and it has been a constant presence on my body every since. After initially not liking this fragrance, AT ALL, I smelt it after 20 minutes and I couldn't believe it was the same perfume. When you first smell it, it literally smells like a forest but as it mellows out, more of the Tonka bean comes through and soften the scent. Tonka bean gives it a vanilla sort of smell and really soften the stronger woody notes which I don't like. Luckily it takes me around 20 minutes to drive to work so by the time I make it, I am smelling good. This has been the perfect Autumn fragrance and paired with Peony and Blush Suede, my all time favourite Jo Malone London Cologne, they are the dream team.

This perfume will be put away for December as it will be Pomegranate Noir time but I am sure you will see more of this scent combo in the new year.

Kiehl's - Daily Reviving Concentrate

I really did not intent on buying this but as there have been so many discounts on beauty this month, I took the opportunity to buy a product I had been wanting to try for a while. Whilst shopping for a moisturiser, I found out Kiehl's had 15% off so I felt like it was finally time to try the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate. If you have ever watched any of Jamie Genevieve's videos, she always applies this oil before putting her make up on. As it is Winter and the heating is on in every building I go into, every ounce of moisture has been sucked out of my skin. I hoped that this oil would help to retain the dewy look I like to have. The thought of using an oil under my make up scared me but this is a dry oil so it sinks into the skin really quickly. I've never used a serum or an oil in the morning previously but now I can understand why people go to the effort of using skincare in the morning. This has made all the difference and makes my face look fresher, even though I might not be feeling that fresh in the morning. Also the smell of this oil would promote it to my favourites alone as it smells so good. I think it is the ginger which gives it the scent but the scent alone is enough to revive you.

Glamglow - Powermud

This months theme seems to be products I didn't like at first. Not only was I not sure about the Jo Malone perfume but it also took me a couple of attempts to use the Powermud Mask by Glamglow. The first time I tried it, it felt like my face was going to melt off. However I think I had been using it wrong as the second time I tried it: there was no burning and my skin has never felt as smooth as it did after I had used this mask. The scent reminds me of the scent So White by Lush as it has that same fresh apple smell. Lush have stopped selling So White in store so this fulfills my need for an apple scented product.

This mask is a mud to oil mask. It seems quite thin when you apply it but as it dries it becomes more like a standard mud mask. As you wash it off it transforms into a cleanser which drags everything out of your skin. This dual purpose leaves my skin feeling soft and looking clear. It isn't the cheapest mask but I really do think this mask is worth it. I have written a full review on this mask here, Glamglow: Powermud

OPI - Pale to the Chief

Around this time last year I had my nails done with an OPI shade which I ended up really liking. I stupidly didn't make a note of the name so when I realised how much I liked it, I couldn't go out and buy it. I ended up buying quite a few polishes to try and find the correct one. I knew it was an OPI polish and I was dead sure it was Pale to the Chief as it looked quite similar to a picture I had of the nails. Turns out I don't think this is the shade as it comes across quite pale your nails. I like OPI polishes and this is a good nude for every season but I have particularly been loving it this month. There really isn't much to say about the polish so I'm going to move on.

Stila - Glitter and Glow Shadows

This month I have rediscovered my love of glitter, taking me back to my youth. I had been wanting to try the Stila Glitter and Glow Shadows for ages and I finally got around to using them this month for a night out. The Glitter and Glow shadows are a pre-glued glitter and they are very easy to use. I bought myself their Christmas set so I have three different shades but I have only used Diamond Dust so far. This was perfect for my night out and I'm sure it will come in very handy throughout December and the festive season. I did a full review of these this month and here is the link if you want to read more, Stila: Glitter and Glow Shadow Set

I honestly feel like November has flown by and I felt very unprepared with my favourites. This is probably a little shorter than your average favourites post as I really wasn't ready to be writing one this quickly. December is going to be a busy month and I have already started pre-writing a lot of posts so that I don't miss out on an upload. When I woke up this morning I already felt the excitement of Christmas and I'm sure that will come across in all of my posts this month. I was hoping to add a few more posts into my usual scheduling but as I didn't think about doing this early enough, I'm not sure there will be any extras. Although it is worth keeping an eye on my twitter as if I do publish any extra posts I will update you on there. My twitter is @SophaaRambles
