Monday Muse | Jackie Kennedy

It's no surprise that Jackie Kennedy Onassis was named one of Time magazines top 100-All Time fashion icons. Her name is synonymous with style. During her time as first lady in the 1960s she stunned in impeccably tailored suits and dresses, long gloves, and lady like pearl necklaces. Before her days of First Lady fame, she studied Journalism at Vassar and in 1951 won a writing contest at Vogue Magazine with the prize being an internship in Paris. Ultimately her mother would not allow her to go to France, a few months later she met an upcoming politician John Kennedy. During her time as First Lady she applied her sense of style to the White House and was responsible for the White House Restoration.

"During her husband's presidency, Jacqueline Kennedy became a symbol of fashion for women all over the world. She set the style for the early sixties with her clean suits, sleeveless A-line dresses and the pillbox hat that she often wore. Following her time in the political spotlight while living in Greece and later New York she experimented more with her look." She is still known today as one of the most influential women in fashion.
